Audrey Code's work is based on forms found in botanicals, the figure, landscape, and the sea. She uses fluid acrylic paint, which is poured onto the canvas, allowed to dry, returned to the easel, and drawn and painted again in that position. This whole process is repeated many times to form transparencies of color and form. The forms are derived from drawings of natural elements and direct observation. The transformations occur on the canvas to create flowing movement in the paintings, mimicking the ebb and flow of nature.
