Jim Ebersole has a BFA from Pratt Institute and a master’s degree in art history from Hunter College. The Alex Katz Foundation bought sixteen of Jim’s paintings. His paintings are in the collections of the Tang Museum in Saratoga Springs, NY and The Museum of Contemporary Art at UMASS Amherst.
“My plein air paintings may be complete in themselves or they may be reference material for larger studio works. My work documents the present while having a dialog with the history of western painting. Light, form and space are used to create compositions with an abstract foundation and psychological impact.”
