I AM HERE; YOU ARE THERE

In my work, I am trying to capture the intangible, lyrical quality of space. I am interested in how space is inhabited and what occurs when place is infused with history and memory. Increasingly, my work has become a response to an ever-changing landscape continually impacted by human manipulation. I combine random patterns found in nature with the human inclination for order and symmetry. By merging these disparate components, my challenge is to distill experiential space to its very essence, and discover the unspoken place.”

Lisa’s work has been exhibited at the Belleview Arts Museum, the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council, the Brooklyn Arts Council and the Weatherspoon Museum. In addition, Lisa has worked with galleries including Ascent Contemporary, Project 4, BravinLee Projects and JoAnne Artman. Lisa’s work has been reviewed in The New York Times, The Boston Globe and Sculpture Magazine. She created site responsive installations at the Cornell Fine ARts Museum, Center for Maine Contemporary Art, Lehman College Art Gallery and the Target Gallery. In 2016, Lisa was awarded the New Media Invitational from the Target Gallery and was a Joan Mitchell semi-finalist.
