Lisa Pressman was born in Elizabeth, New Jersey in 1958. She has an MFA from Bard College. Her work focuses on a visual synthesis of stored and personal memory. She shows nationally and has a solo museum show planned at the Mulvane Art Museum, Topeka, Kansas in 2020.
“My work embodies a visual synthesis of stored memory. Personal recollections, both vivid and vague, build and decompose over time. Each painting, with its complex layered surface, elicits a visceral response, reshaping its own new history.”
