Michele C. Kishita is a Philadelphia-based artist and Adjunct Assistant Professor at the University of the Arts. In her paintings she makes correlations between the landscape, especially water, and the whorled wood grain of her painting surfaces, delineating the fluid resonances between seemingly disparate elements. Kishita’s paintings are in several private collections and have been shown in many exhibitions on the East Coast and internationally at the Sharjah Art Museum in the United Arab Emirates. Kishita received both her BFA and MFA from the University of the Arts and is represented by The Drawing Room Gallery and Carrie Coleman Fine Art.
