Art File

The Painting Center is now accepting submissions to the Art File from September 15, 2025, through January 15, 2026.

The Art File is a curated online gallery hosted on The Painting Center’s website, designed to highlight the work of contemporary artists and expand their visibility within the broader art community. Artists accepted into the Art File receive a public profile on our website and are eligible to be considered for inclusion in our ongoing member and guest-curated exhibitions.

Artists selected for exhibitions will be contacted directly by The Painting Center. These exhibitions are funded in part by the gallery, with additional supplemental contributions requested from participating artists. In addition to their presence on The Painting Center’s website.

Art File artists may additionally apply for:

  • Gallery membership

  • Juried exhibitions

  • A solo exhibition in the Project Room

An annual Art File membership fee of $100 is required upon acceptance, following review by the committee. This fee helps offset the costs of maintaining and promoting the Art File Gallery.

submission Guidelines

Please carefully follow the submission guidelines below. All materials must be submitted in a single email for consideration.

Images

  • Submit images as individual attachments (no zip files)

  • Include three (3) JPEG images of recent work completed within the last two years

  • Images must be 72 dpi with a minimum of 1200 pixels on the shortest side

  • Label each file as: LastName_FirstName_Title_Year

Written Content

Include the following information in the body of your email (do not attach Word documents or PDFs):

  • Image details (title, date, medium, dimensions)

  • Biographical information (maximum 50 words)

  • Brief artist statement (maximum 50 words) describing the most pertinent aspects of your work

  • Link to your website

  • Link to your Instagram account and your Instagram handle
