His current show at The Painting Center features a transition from the object in landscape to the figure in landscape and back to the object in landscape. The trilogy paintings “The last Temptation of St. Anthony” reflect one day of walking through a rapidly changing Chelsea neighborhood. They were captured on iPhone and sketched on paper before becoming paintings. The show is influenced by “The temptation of St. Anthony by Gustave Flaubert”, the work of Friedrich Nietzsche (Thus Spoke Zarathustra) not to mention Bob Dylan “Sad Eyed Lady of the Low Lands” et al.
