The Painting Center is proud to present Personal Territories, an exhibition of new work by Ryan Cobourn. The paintings in the exhibition focus on three themes that have occupied him for several years: the city, the distant landscape, and the lush garden. This collection of new paintings explore how each theme is distinctly different, exploring emotional ranges of a wildly divergent temperament, while simultaneously unifying them through the
language of paint.

Personal Territories will be Ryan Cobourn’s second solo show in New York City. During the course of the show, the exhibition will be viewable online at www.ryancobourn.com

A full-color catalogue highlighting recent work, with an essay by Christina Kee, will be available. Funding for the exhibition and the catalog has been provided by The Pollock-Krasner Foundation.
