Farrin Chwalkowski, currently a professor of art history at The School of Visual Arts in NYC and previously at Rhode Island School of Design, balances academia with a passion for design and painting. Raised in a small town in Northeast Iran, Chwalkowski's diverse artistic endeavors, from carpet weaving to exhibitions and lectures, reflect a deep appreciation for symbolism and experimentation across various media.

“As an artist, I embrace symbolism and experimentation across various media. Born in Northeast Iran, I began designing and weaving carpets at a young age, funding my education and pursuing big dreams. My diverse artwork, from watercolor to sculpture, draws inspiration from religion, nature, and life experiences, conveying rich symbolic meanings.”
