Christopher Schade is from Austin, Texas and grew up in Austin and Chile. Schade is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, Yale University and the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture. His work has been written about in Interview Magazine, The Huffington Post and Hyperallergic.
“I want to create psychological images utilizing the genre of landscape painting. By supporting some pictorial conventions while undermining others and having multiple visual languages concurrent within one image, I’m interested in exploring the psychological space of holding simultaneously and contradictory beliefs or perceptions.”
