Teresa Dunn is a brown Mexican-American artist living in Michigan. Her identity, life, and art are informed by racial ambiguity and her two cultural heritages. Dunn received her MFA from Indiana University Bloomington, is a three-time recipient of the Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation Fellowship, and a Sustainable Arts Foundation award winner.
My recent paintings depict women, especially those marginalized by race, ethnicity, immigration status, cultural complexity, and gender identity. My visual storytelling celebrates our stories and connections to each other through family, friendship, and shared or parallel experiences through the dynamic richness of color, rhythm, pattern, tension, contradiction, and light.
