Penny Santy, an abstract figurative painter from New York State, earned her fine art degree from Syracuse University. Painting, to her, is both a physical and mental endeavor. Her work uses the spontaneity of drawing in the painted space and she strives to remain experimental in her approach to painting.
"To experience the physicality of the painting process is to experience my energy going into each piece. My work often is an examination of trials, both human and natural, but in the light of hope. They are an investigation of resilience, vulnerability, cooperation and joy."
