Rachel Hertz

Rachel Hertz, b. 1994 is a contemporary still life oil painter. Her work combines observation with feelings, timelessness and color. Rachel received a Certificate of Painting from the PAFA, a BFA from UPenn, and a MA from CGLAS. She has also attended JSS, and JSS in Civita residency.

My paintings engage with observation of quiet spaces in my personal life. I emphasize domestic spaces through composition with a focus on mark making, texture, and movement. I use still life as vessels for recurring emotions of isolation, yearning, and connection, while reflecting a warm presence through color harmonies
