Corrie Slawson
Cleveland-based Corrie Slawson earned her BFA (Painting) at Parsons School of Design and MFA at Kent State University. She has exhibited at numerous institutions and museums in the US and internationally. She has won numerous Ohio Arts Council Grants and was a 2021 recipient of a mid-career Cleveland Arts Prize.
Corrie Slawson’s work consists of two-dimensional media coalesced into detailed, panoramic landscapes and swirling, amalgamated forms. Sometimes naturalistic, other times channeling a baroque surrealism, her imagery evolves from a practice rooted in collage and photography and then allows painting and drawing to overtake the imagery.
