Ellen Holtzblatt
Ellen Holtzblatt, a Chicago-based artist, exhibits her work in the US and internationally. Holtzblatt's work is in numerous public and private collections. Her work has been written about in multiple publications, including New City and Sixty Inches From Center. Holtzblatt graduated from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
My work is fueled by the relationship between the physical and the spiritual. I seek empathic understanding of self and other. Landscape becomes an allegory for psychological states, emotion, evolution and decay. Through figures and landscapes, I explore the power and vulnerability of mind, soul, and the passage of time.
