Lauren Woods
Lauren Woods is a multidisciplinary artist based in Alabama. Through painting, video, and dance performances, her work contemplates embodied expression, nature's consciousness, and the transformational properties of time. She holds an MFA in painting from the New York Academy of Art.
I base my painting practice on intuition and discovery, gradually uncovering imagery through lived experience, dreams, and collected influences. Recent work considers the body as both a container and a threshold, utilizing cyclical forms and natural elements to evoke interior landscapes and cosmic themes related to aging, growth, and renewal.
