Jill Ziccardi
Ziccardi grew up in NY in a traditional Italian working-class family. Has BFA, MFA. Active studio practice for decades. Continues to exhibit locally and nationally. Recognized for her unique style and process. Her paintings can be seen in a number of private and museum collections in the US.
My work is about girl power. Since I'm sassy, humor and irony help me expose bias imbedded in our language. My images are inspired by feminism, satire, stereotypes, and American slang. I paint on stretched fabric, and frame edges are ornamented with objects that tease the protagonist in the painting.
