Moninski is influenced by history, nature and decorative arts traditions. His paintings and drawings have been exhibited nationally. Awards include a grant from the American-Scandinavian Foundation for research in Norway, and artist residencies at Vermont Studio Center, Cuttyhunk Island, Virginia Center for Creative Arts, and the Ragdale Foundation.

“I use camouflage fabric - symbolic of concealment and deception, coupled with objects like traffic cones, "Caution" tape and highway hazard barrels to create a sense of an unspecified but imminent threat. I find that imagery especially apt as a metaphor for our times. ”
