Ellen Soffer

Ellen Soffer is a contemporary abstract painter. Soffer earned her MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and her BFA from the Philadelphia College of Art. She was born and raised in Philadelphia and currently lives and works out of her studio in Shreveport, LA.

My studio practice is essential in engaging with myself and the formal processes of painting. I create intuitively, color and its intensity are driving factors. Content and meaning come afterwords by reflecting on current and past work. My intention is to capture the impressions left behind from emotions and memories.
