Sarah Boyts Yoder received an MFA in Painting from James Madison University in 2006. Since then her work has been featured in almost 50 solo and group exhibitions and numerous publications.  She has been a fellow at multiple artist residency programs, most recently The Virginia Center for the Creative Arts.

Using a colorful visual vocabulary of emblems I have generated over time, each of my paintings fluently and joyfully articulates how form can evade our need for categorization. Can definition be captured and confounded at the same time? Painting is a hopeful, optimistic act, and abstraction is an exploratory and generative state of being.
