Sarah Hessinger

Sarah Hessinger is an emerging painter who works and lives in Hawaii. In 2024, she completed her first residency in Manhattan, NY, and also exhibited at The Post Office in Port Ewen, NY. Exhibition locations include Seattle, Portland, Maui, Chicago, San Francisco, and the Marin Museum of Contemporary Art.  

Situated on an island, I paint outdoors amid a fertile and dynamic ecosystem. My work explores color as a practice of alignment and ritual- anchors to nature's cycles. Painting is the quiet act of observation—of light, air, and the body's place within them-creating a sensory experience.
