Abby zonies
Abby Zonies has a BFA from Boston University and an MFA from the SMFA/Tufts University. She was the recipient of a Massachusetts fellowship in painting in 1981 and is the recipient of several awards for her recent abstractions on paper. Abby is a signature member of the National Association of Women Artists and a member of the National Association of Digital Artists. Currently she continues her studio work in Cambridge, Mass.
I make boisterous and colorful works on paper utilizing gouache and assorted mixed media. Formerly a painterly realist, I freed myself from the constraints of describing an image. My abstractions are an intuitive celebration of marks and gesture that reflect on our current environment.
