Abby zonies
Abby Zonies has a BFA from Boston University and an MFA from the SMFA/Tufts University. She was the recipient of a Massachusetts fellowship in painting in 1981 and is the recipient of several awards for her recent abstractions. Currently she continues her studio work in Cambridge, Mass.
“I make boisterous and colorful works on paper utilizing gouache and assorted mixed media. Formerly a painterly realist, I freed myself from the constraints of describing an image. My abstractions are an intuitive celebration of marks and gesture that reflect on our current environment.”
