Mihika Poddar
Mihika Poddar is a visual artist from Nepal, currently based in New York City, where she earned her BFA in Fine Arts from Parsons School of Design. Working across painting, drawing, sculpture, and mixed media, she constructs psychologically charged worlds where memory, folklore, and the unconscious converge.
Monstrous Becoming examines the evolving relationship between fear and desire. I use horror as a methodology, one that reveals how childhood terrors, those used to discipline young girls, transform into sites of allure and power. Fear becomes attraction, attraction deepens into desire, and desire culminates in transformation.
